Sara Ramirez
Sara Ramirez has been a Mexican American actor, performer, and songwriter for many years. She was raised by her mom throughout the USA she was subject to many racial slurs which gave her feeling of being a bit unpopular. She began to gain confidence during the 9th grade, when she appeared in an audition and was highly praised for her singing. The experience not only increased her confidence but was also a change in the direction she pursued in her career. In 1992, she earned her degree from New York's Julliard School. When she turned 23 years old, she launched her journey in Broadway in the Paul Simon musical The Capeman. Then, when she was 23 she made her film debut in You've Got Mail. In the Broadway original production of Spamalot she portrayed The Lady of The Lake and won both the Tony Award as well as high praise from critics. Her fame grew by appearing on Grey's Anatomy on ABC as Dr. Callie Torres. In addition to being an acclaimed singer she has released two solo albums and a longer piece. Also, she is a campaigner and has been active for LGBT rights.
