David Muir (born August 25, 1949) is an American journalist, anchor and reporter. He is most well-known for World News Tonight. Its stunning video footage as well as the animated movements has made it the top popular newscast in the United States. Made In America was nominated for an Emmy. His predecessor, Diane Sawyer's primary replacement anchor until he was appointed anchor at ABC World News Tonight. In recent years he's covered a variety of ABC News primetime specials including Breaking Point Heroin in America. He has been to many nations around the world reporting the current news. from Gaza Egypt Iran Somalia Japan Peru Ukraine Haiti, and the Gulf of Mexico. He has received a variety of Emmy Awards Edward R. Murrow Awards, in addition to honors given by The Associated Press.
